The Red Queen 2014



I began the game concept with Heather Nicole Smith before moving on to redesigning it. Heather came up with the initial board layout and the concept of the Red Queen, a monster who attacks the inhabitants of the island randomly.

The game structure changed to keep track of the amount of damage created by the Queen and also better track of the player's score. Districts were created to allow players to protect a district with a magic staff. This also made for a quick and easy set-up of the game at start time.


The Red Queen dial is spun to randomize where the queen attacks. The slider is moved up one level per turn to create intervals of time between her attacks.
